A WOMAN, writing under the caption A woman’s point of view in Magazine Mail some time ago, accuses me of “being completely faithful makes me a member of an exclusive, yet fast diminishing, species of husbands.”

For argument’s sake, let us accept that the vast majority of our men are unfaithful. Let us also assume that “unfaithful” here is taken in the modern sense of the word, and not the biblical sense according to which, a man and a woman who are not related are guilty of adultery if they are caught talking to each other). Then, unless our unfaithful men have found unfaithful extra-terrestrial women to be unfaithful with, our women too should be accused by the writer of being unfaithful to their men. It is obvious that as far as Pakistani females are concerned, this is not true.

I still maintain that the writer is a man. Otherwise, why the need for the pseudonym?
