Imran Khan has always been scared that Pakistan's condition will improve under the present government. His lootias did their best to ensure that the IMF and other friendly countries do not help Pakistan. But now that the IMF has given a loan of seven billion dollars, and have said that Pakistan's economy is on the right path, Imran Khan is desperate to destabilize the country. His party's activists (lootias) have planned to hold protest rallies in all cities to get him released.
When Imran Khan was arrested in August 2023, I got a call an hour or so after midnight from a former class fellow in the US. He asked me not to venture out of my house at night, as lootias were attacking everyone in sight. I told him I'd just returned from a wedding dinner and hadn't seen any riots, everything seemed normal. He was amazed. In the ensuing days, Imran Khan's lovers told me to stock up on food for at least a month, as the country was going to see a lot of commotion. Nothing happened.
When a Memon woman driver killed a father and daughter in Karachi last month, PTI lootias went on the rampage. I got calls from abroad saying that she had been flown out of the country to Dubai a couple of hours after the incident, because her husband has friends in the army. She's still in jail, by the way, despite the victims' heirs having forgiven her, because her blood and urine samples were found to contain narcotics.
The latest was an incident in an Islamabad bakery where an employee insulted the Chief Justice. Lootias posted pictures of the bakery being sealed and shut, but Dawn's fact-checking revealed that the bakery is open, the photos was an old one when the bakery had been sealed for unhygienic conditions.
I doubt if PTI lootias will ever give up spreading disinformation to destabilize the country.
