‘Proof’ delayed
Sir: Mr Rehman Malik says he has documented proof of the Sharif brothers’ corruption. Would he kindly inform us why he has waited until now to ‘expose’ the corruption of the Sharif brothers? As interior minister of the country, he should have known that by not revealing this information for so long, he himself is guilty of criminal conduct. Why did he not speak up when the returning officers were trying to determine the eligibility of the candidates to contest the elections? The two brothers would have had a hard time convincing the ECP that they are staunch Muslims who meet the rigorous standards of Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution — they might even have been disqualified. However, perhaps, at that time, he did not want to do it because the PPP was an ally of the PML-N.
