Ugly words
Thursday, February 24, 2011
This is with reference to your editorial “Ugly words” (February 22), in which you lamented the fact that Dr Zulfiqar Mirza did not know anything about tact and diplomacy. By now you should have known that people like Mirza think that diplomacy is not for people like him; “real” men like him have to bluster and rant to convey the impression that they are not scared.
Mirza belongs to the breed of people who routinely break traffic signals while speeding through the roads in their Prados. He believes that speaking softly will make the enemy think that he’s weak. As someone else in his party once said, “We are born to rule.” In short, they don’t really believe in either diplomacy or democracy for that matter.
