Floods aftermath — III

Sir: This is with reference to F Adeel’s letter ‘Damaging media campaign’ (Daily Times, August15, 2010). It is not because of the media that the general public does not want to donate to the government for flood relief. The present government has proved that it is totally unresponsive to the needs of the people. With our leaders going away on foreign tours and spending huge amounts on the maintenance of their homes, together with the reported disappearance of millions donated by foreign governments for the earthquake victims, it is obvious that a big chunk of the donated amounts will be stashed away in foreign bank accounts or used to buy properties in foreign countries.
