In Karachi's Defence, it's a miracle that serious accidents don't take place everyday. Since there is little or no traffic police at major intersections, and since most drivers think they're above the law, they go through red lights ignoring those vehicles which have the right of way. Frequently it so happens that by the time these law-breakers pass, the signal turns red and one has to wait until the next time it turns green. This situation can be controlled only by posting more policemen at intersections and imposing heavy fines on those who do not have the patience to wait for the traffic signal to turn green.
