KESC in the doldrums

WITH reference to your editorial, ‘Power riots’ (July 22), the rioters as far as Karachi is concerned are evidently hooligans who indulge in power theft. Contrary to what most people think, feudals and industrialists alone do not steal electricity.

In almost all localities, power is either stolen outright through ‘kundas’ or metres are rigged in connivance with linemen to record reduced consumption.

Some of the rioters should be arrested and asked to produce their electric bills, which will prove my point.
