United States interference

Although the people rejected President Musharraf and his allies in the general election, Americans are not happy with the future political setup in Pakistan. They probably think that President Musharraf is indispensable for Pakistan. Therefore, they have been pressuring both Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to let Pervez Musharraf continue as president. If our leaders were to act on foreign diktats, what was the point in holding a general election? Why were millions of rupees spent in the electoral process if the elected representatives can't take decisions themselves?

Why doesn't the US tell India as to who should become its president or prime minister? There is only one way forward: unconditional restoration of the sacked judges and plunderers' accountability for their corruption during the past five years.
